As many of you know, my mother passed away from AML Leukemia last August. I never thought that the person who was dying to save my life would ever die. In her honor, on January 18th, I ran the 2009 Aramco Houston Half Marathon. My mother was with me all the way just as always and her spirit lifted me...
Art in Motion, along with Heidi Powell and H Gallery, helped raise $1900 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. These funds help research and patient assisted programs. Leukemia is the #1 disease killer of kids, so its got to go. Also the leading fatal malignant disease of those under 35, so it has got to go. Much love to all the children of the rainbow...

On Saturday Febuary 28th 2009, I ran the Conoco Phillips Rodeo Run. A much easier run then the half marathon from January, but still a super cool event for a good cause. $245,000 was raised for the Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo Education Fund. Click here for more event info.

Thanks for all who helped me reach my goal of $1900 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. I finished the Houston Aramco Half Marathon much to my amazement, and will be running the Houston full marathon in Jan 2009. My appologies for the late update in regards to this. Thanks especially to Heidi Powell-Prera and H-Gallery, without you guys this would not have been possible!!! Together we can push the world in the right direction. Here are some pics from the run...

I also ran the 2008 Austin Half Marathon. Attempts were made to set up a fundraiser for this event, but did not pan out in time. This was a great day though, the Austin pseudo-hippies are very kind. Then energy was so positive. This run is dedicated to my friends Forrest Walsh and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it...even peace!!!
