Art in motion started in 2000 as a spontaneous improv project in Denton, Texas. My goal was to draw emotion (negative or positive) from people, through extreme and unique methods. I had a band play, while some kids made trash art in an apartment courtyard. I wanted this to be a once in a lifetime event. Well, the show was such a success that I had to put together another one. Seven years later here we are still pushing the world in the right direction.
Some things have changed, but the concepts are the same:
· Drawing emotion out of people!
· No two shows are the same!
· All art is created equal!
· Everyone is an artist!
· Anything is art!
The shows are focused on incorporating different types of art, and different types of artists. We can all learn from each other, and it does all of us benefit to be exposed to new techniques. I want painters to learn about music, musicians to learn about poetry, and poets to learn about photography. A community where individuals can discuss process, and get advice from other forward-minded people. The show is in essence the art.
